I ran a small house painting business for years, and I kept walking into the same rooms. There was the cold bedroom, the room over the garage that cooks all summer, and the hallway where you can feel a draft on your ankles. A fresh coat of paint made them look better, but they felt the same, because the trouble was up in the attic or down in the crawl space. So I learned insulation work on other crews and started Premier Santa Cruz Insulation Services here in 2023.

Our license, insurance and permits
California contractor license
The Contractors State License Board requires a license from anyone who builds or alters a building in California once labor and materials come to $1,000 or more, and a home improvement contractor has to hold that license before giving you a bid. That's the rule our work falls under. Licensed and fully insured.
Permits handled up front
Under state rules, a job that needs a building permit also needs a contractor licensed by the board. We check with the city or county office that covers your address, and if your job needs a permit, we take care of it and tell you before the work starts.

I come out for every estimate myself, look at your attic or crawl space with you and explain what I see in plain words. You'll know what's going on and what your options are before anyone picks up a tool, and if a cheaper fix makes more sense, I'll tell you.
Problems get fixed before anything gets covered
If there's a roof leak, old wiring or insulation that's soaked or full of droppings, we deal with that first, so the new work isn't sitting on top of a problem. Our installers do the work, and I check in on the job along the way.
You walk the finished job with us
Before we leave, we walk through the finished work with you so you can see the coverage for yourself. That includes the edges and corners, which should be just as well covered as the middle of the attic.
