Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply when you use the Premier Santa Cruz Insulation Services website or hire us for insulation work. By using the site, calling us, sending our contact form or accepting an estimate, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us.
Premier Santa Cruz Insulation Services is an insulation contractor based in Santa Cruz, CA. You can read more about who we are and how we work on our About page.
What we do
We insulate and air seal homes and some commercial buildings in Santa Cruz and the cities around it. That includes attics, walls, crawl spaces, basements, spray foam, blown-in insulation, insulation removal and vapor barriers. Our home page lists our services and the cities that have their own page, though we work in other places too.
Everything on this site is general information about how this kind of work usually goes. It isn't a promise about your house, because what we find once we're in your attic or crawl space can change the job.
Estimates and pricing
Our estimates are free and come after we've looked at the space in person. An estimate covers only the work it describes, based on what we could see and reach during the visit.
Your estimate stays good for the period written on it. If we pull back old material or open up a space and find something the estimate didn't account for, like soaked insulation, droppings, damaged framing or buried vents, we'll stop, show you and put the change in writing before we do any extra work. We won't add a charge you haven't approved.
Scheduling, re-entry and cancellation
We set a start date with you once you accept the estimate. Weather, material deliveries, access to the space and what we find on site can move that date, so we'll tell you as soon as we know.
Some jobs, foam work especially, mean you, your family and your pets need to stay out of the house until the re-entry time we give you, which is the point when it's safe to come back inside. Please follow it, because it's set for your safety.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us as early as you can. Materials ordered for your job and work already done may be charged as set out in your written agreement. If state law gives you a right to cancel your contract, nothing in these terms limits that right.
Payment
Your written estimate or agreement states the price, when each payment is due and whether a deposit is needed. Unless it says otherwise, the final payment is due when the work is finished and you've had the chance to walk through it with us.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's settled. We'll only charge late fees where your agreement and the law allow them.
Our work and warranties
We're licensed and fully insured, and we want you satisfied with the job. If something about our work isn't right, call us and we'll come back and look at it.
Any warranty on our workmanship is the one written in your agreement. Materials carry their maker's warranty, which we pass along to you, and the maker's terms decide what it covers.
Beyond those written warranties, and as far as the law allows, we make no other promises. That includes how much your power bill will drop, since that depends on your house, how you use it and your utility rates. The website itself is provided as is, and while we try to keep it accurate, we don't guarantee it's free of errors or always available.
Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as losing the use of a room or the cost of staying elsewhere, and our total liability for a job is limited to what you paid us for it. This doesn't limit any liability the law won't let us limit, such as for our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.
We aren't responsible for problems that were there before we started and that our work didn't cause, like hidden leaks, pests, mold or old wiring. We'll still tell you about anything we notice so you can decide what to do.
If we disagree
If you have a problem with our work or a bill, call us first at (831) 201-6061, because most issues get sorted out with a conversation and a return visit. If we can't settle it directly within a reasonable time, either of us may take it to small claims court or another court with jurisdiction in Santa Cruz County, California.
Which law applies
These terms, your use of this site and any job we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time and will post the new version on this page. The version in place when you accept an estimate is the one that applies to that job, and later changes don't apply to work already agreed unless we both sign off on them.
